Mental health services are delivered by independent consultant psychiatrists who operate from the premises at Central Coast Psychiatry. Each practitioner manages their own clinical practice and provides assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for a broad range of psychiatric conditions. Evidence-based approaches are used, tailored to individual clinical needs.

Clinical Areas of Focus

Mood Disorders

• Major Depressive Disorder: Treatment may include medication management, psychological referrals, and lifestyle support, based on clinical assessment.

• Bipolar Affective Disorder: Management strategies may involve mood stabilisation and long-term care planning.

Anxiety Disorders

Support is available for generalised anxiety disorder, panic disorder, social anxiety, and phobias. Treatment options may include pharmacological and psychological interventions, as clinically indicated.

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

Trauma-informed care is available for individuals affected by trauma. Where appropriate, psychiatrists may collaborate with psychologists or other allied health professionals.

Psychotic Disorders

Care is available for schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, and related conditions. Management may include medication, psychoeducation, and support for families and carers.

Advanced Treatment Options

Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS)

rTMS will soon be available at this location. This non-invasive treatment is used in the management of treatment-resistant depression and other mood disorders. Enquiries regarding availability are welcome.

Specialist Assessments

Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA)

Psychiatric assessments are available for veterans under the DVA. Practitioners consulting from this location have experience in trauma-informed care and veteran mental health.

Medico-Legal Services

Some psychiatrists offer civil medico-legal assessments for legal and insurance-related matters, including:

• Motor Vehicle Accident Reports

• WorkCover Independent Medical Examinations (IMEs)

• Other matters, as appropriate

Reports are prepared in accordance with legal standards and tailored to the needs of solicitors, insurers, and courts.

Accessing Services

Administrative staff are available to assist with general enquiries and can direct patients or referrers to the appropriate practitioner based on the nature of the request. All clinical decisions and care are the responsibility of the individual practitioner.
